Full Job Description Description:
Fast paced precision metal fabrication company seeking a quality minded Grinder person. Our shop focus is on Quality of Workmanship, Accountability, Safety, and Teamwork. Must be familiar with Air tools, Drilling, Tapping, Graining, Cleaning, Grinding, Reading calipers. This is a full-time position including some overtime and Saturdays when needed. This position will report to the Weld department supervisor. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Log into job via data collection system before starting job. Follow industry standard deburr and grind techniques Grind, file, deburr, buff and smooth surface metal parts using hand tools or powered equipment requiring care to maintain contour, edges and dimensions Grind/Deburr per W/O. Inspects completed and in-process pieces to verify conformance of finish to the customer and company standards Performed first run check and have it signed off by Lead or QC. Continue to self-inspect part thought-out run to ensure quality. After completing job log out of job via data collect system. Move job to next operation. Physical Demands This position requires repetitive motion along with lifting and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds on a regular bases. Rotation of head/neck, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, use of high and low impact vibratory tools, flexion/extension, contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, exposure to noise, and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes, hand/arm and ears. Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours. Able to maintain a quick and steady pace working efficiently throughout the shift. Must be able to load, unload, and adjust workpieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools. Good manual dexterity is required for operating equipment and moving workpieces. Knowledge Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, Awareness of quality management system requirements. Understanding of blueprints, work orders, and any other paperwork for special handling instructions and grain direction. Skills Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required Attention to detail Ability to work independently as a team player Good with hand tools Good mechanical aptitude and ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis

Environmental Exposure Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as forklifts and carts. Exposure to hot temperature when working new ovens or in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months)
