Job Title:
Finishing Technician Job Description The Finishing Technician performs grinding, deburring, and finishing operations on metal components in a manufacturing environment. This role supports safe and efficient production processes by following standard work methods, using hand and measuring tools accurately, and collaborating closely with team members to meet daily production goals. Responsibilities Perform assigned grinding, deburring, and finishing tasks on metal parts to meet quality and production standards. Follow standard work methods, operating procedures, and safe work practices at all times. Support production processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and safety throughout the workday. Use small hand tools and measuring tools correctly to complete finishing operations and verify part specifications. Read and follow written and verbal instructions in English to carry out daily tasks and job orders. Organize work, prioritize tasks, and follow instructions with limited supervision. Work effectively as part of a team to achieve shared production goals and maintain a smooth workflow. Perform repetitive manual tasks with accuracy and attention to detail over extended periods. Handle, lift, and maneuver materials and components weighing 30 to 50 pounds as needed. Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety, sanitizing, and housekeeping procedures. Adapt to working in an environment with noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, and molten metal. Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall plant operations. Essential Skills Ability to perform grinding, deburring, and finishing tasks on metal components. Proficiency in using small hand tools safely and effectively. Ability to follow instructions in English, including reading, writing, and performing simple arithmetic calculations. Understanding of basic measurements and the ability to use and identify measuring tools. Ability to organize work and follow instructions with limited supervision. Basic tool knowledge and solid math skills for measurement and part verification. Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately on a daily basis. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a production team. Capability to work in difficult conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, molten metal, and other elements for extended periods. Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms, and communicate clearly. Physical ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by the tasks. Ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing between 30 and 50 pounds. Commitment to wearing required safety equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous foundry experience is a strong plus. Manufacturing or assembly experience is preferred. Experience working with mechanical tools, sanding, deburring, and production processes is beneficial. Familiarity with sheet metal work, repair tasks, and mechanical operations is an advantage. Experience operating equipment such as forklifts is helpful, where applicable. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time role in a manufacturing and foundry-style environment, typically based on an 8-hour shift schedule during weekdays. The work involves regular exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, molten metal, and other industrial elements. The position requires frequent standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling parts, tools, and measuring devices, with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees handle materials weighing 30 to 50 pounds as part of daily operations. Personal protective equipment is provided or required, including safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, and sanitizing, disinfecting, and cleaning procedures are in place to maintain a clean and safe facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tulalip, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
