Day Shift Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused HAZMAT Technician to join our team in Sylmar, CA . This is a full-time, day-shift opportunity for an individual who is committed to workplace safety and experienced in the proper handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, knowledge of hazardous material regulations, and the ability to follow established safety procedures in a professional work environment. Key Responsibilities Safely handle, package, label, transport, store, and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures. Identify hazardous substances and understand the potential risks associated with handling and storage. Respond to hazardous material spills, leaks, and other incidents using appropriate containment and cleanup procedures. Inspect hazardous material storage areas, containers, equipment, and work areas for compliance and safety. Maintain accurate manifests, inspection records, inventory logs, and other required documentation. Properly select and use personal protective equipment (PPE) and HAZMAT response equipment. Perform decontamination of equipment, work areas, and personnel when required. Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazard communication information. Follow OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable California regulations and company safety policies. Participate in safety training, emergency response drills, and compliance activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Report safety hazards, incidents, spills, or regulatory concerns to appropriate personnel. Work collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, and other site personnel to maintain a safe operation. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in HAZMAT, environmental services, industrial safety, emergency response, or a related field preferred.

HAZWOPER

certification preferred or required based on assignment. Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, labeling, storage, transportation, and disposal procedures. Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license may be required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move materials and equipment as required. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in physically demanding environments. Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods. Ability to work safely around hazardous materials and equipment. Ability to work in varying environmental and workplace conditions.
