Job Description

HazTrain is seeking an experienced Hazardous Waste Environmental Technician for our contract in the Washington, DC area. Successful candidate will have 3+ years' experience and be proficient in hazardous waste identification, generators' requirements, and responsibilities for RCRA waste generation and storage; and a full understanding of DOT guidelines for shipping hazmat/hazwaste materials.
The job will include:
packaging, labeling, and storing (segregating and consolidation) hazardous waste picking up hazardous waste from generation sites around the base and transporting to the 90-day facility tracking hazardous waste from 'cradle-to-grave' using the Navy's tracking system profiling of wastes preparing waste for shipment, to include preparation of manifests regulatory inspections of HazWaste sites recycling activities

Candidate must:
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Be able to wear protective clothing, and hearing & eye protection
  • Be current in RCRA, HAZWOPER, and DOT training
  • Be able to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Have some computer skills (MS Office and database)
  • Be able to pass federal background check and drug screen.
