Job Title:
SERVPRO Mitigation Technician Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Mitigation Technician to join our SERVPRO team. In this role, you will respond to residential and commercial property damage caused by water, fire, mold, storms, and other disasters. You will perform emergency mitigation services, document job progress, and help restore properties while delivering excellent customer service. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems, and helping people during challenging situations. Key Responsibilities Respond to emergency property damage calls, including after-hours and weekend rotations. Perform water extraction, structural drying, demolition, and debris removal. Set up and monitor drying equipment, including air movers and dehumidifiers. Perform fire, smoke, and mold mitigation services following company and industry standards. Document job progress with photos, moisture readings, and daily reports using company software. Communicate professionally with homeowners, business owners, insurance adjusters, and team members. Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and equipment. Follow OSHA safety guidelines and SERVPRO standard operating procedures. Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials. Assist with contents manipulation, pack-outs, and cleaning as needed. Perform other duties assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Restoration, construction, or general labor experience is preferred but not required. IICRC certifications are a plus (Water Restoration Technician, Applied Structural Drying, etc.). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Strong work ethic and dependable attendance. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and environments affected by water, fire, smoke, or mold. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday with rotating on-call evenings, weekends, and holidays for emergency response. Overtime opportunities available. Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
