Full-Time, Evaluation Hire Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Asbestos Technician to perform asbestos abatement and related activities in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position involves safely removing, encapsulating, and disposing of asbestos-containing materials at residential, commercial, and industrial job sites throughout St. Clair County, IL . The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and holds current asbestos certification.
Responsibilities:
Perform asbestos abatement activities in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and Illinois regulations Properly set up work areas including containment, negative air systems, and decontamination units Safely remove, encapsulate, or repair asbestos-containing materials Handle, label, transport, and dispose of asbestos waste per regulatory requirements Use and maintain PPE, respirators, and abatement tools correctly Complete required job documentation, air monitoring logs, and daily reports Follow company safety policies and attend required training sessions Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure job-site compliance Qualifications Current Illinois Asbestos Certification (Worker or Supervisor, as applicable) required Knowledge of asbestos abatement procedures, safety standards, and regulations Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding environments Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear respirators and protective suits for extended periods Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to pass required background checks, medical exams, and drug screenings #2784
