Qualifications and Detail about the Position An Asbestos Removal Worker is removing, packing, transporting, and / or disposing of asbestos. This position works under minimal supervision. Essential Functions Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock's Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business Seals off work area using plastic sheeting and duct tape. Positions mobile decontamination into portable showers at entrance to work area. Builds connecting walkway between mobile or portable showers and work area Removes or encapsulates asbestos containing materials. Sprays chemical solution over asbestos-covered surfaces to soften asbestos. Cuts and scrapes asbestos from surfaces, using knife and scraper. Shovels asbestos into plastic disposal bags and seals bags using duct tape. Cleans work area of loose asbestos using vacuum, broom and dustpan. Wears protective clothing and uses respirator to prevent exposure to airborne asbestos fibers Position warning signs appropriately Follows proper techniques for minimizing fiber release through the use proper clean

Safely removes coatings or refuses that may contain hazardous compounds Physical Requirements Meet Brock's Fit For Duty Program Must be able to successfully pass Brock and/or Safety Council Site Specific Orientation requirements. Ability to pass a breathing test and full-face respirator fitment test.
Heavy Work:
Lifting up to 50 pounds of force from the floor to the waist and 35 pounds of force from the waist to above shoulder.
Climbing:
Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding at extreme heights.

wrench, hammer, nail bar, torpedo level, hand saw, end nippers, measuring tape, tool belt. Must be able to properly don all required personal protective equipment for the requirements of the job for up to the entire work shift.
