AGEISS Inc. We are seeking a full-time Environmental Technician to work onsite at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) Tacoma, Washington, to support the hazardous waste program.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of hazardous waste labeling, collection, storage, and transportation.
- Experience using HMID and Enterprise, Environmental, Safety, Occupational Health- Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) programs for tracking hazardous waste, approving processes, preparing shipments, data pulls and ad-hoc reporting.
- Assist with compilation of monthly report of office activities.
- Customer support including answering phones and emails.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Commercial Driver License (Class A or B) with Hazmat certification or ability to obtain once hired
- Current 40-hr HAZWOPER or ability to obtain once hired
- Knowledgeable of the procedures and precautions necessary for moving, handling, packaging, and shipping of hazardous waste (HW)
- Working knowledge of Federal environmental statutes and State-specific regulations pertaining to HW and hazardous materials
- Familiarity with OSHA, DoD, and Installation Storage, Handling, and Transportation regulations preferred
- Ability to drive forklifts and operate warehouse tools and equipment (i.e. drum lifts, pallet jack, etc.)
- Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel) is required
- Individuals already possessing an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are preferred or the ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check is required
- Fieldwork includes, but not limited to, outside weather conditions and walking on uneven terrain
