This is a lead field position responsible for running the job from setup through final clearance - directing workers, enforcing safety and regulatory compliance, coordinating with project managers and clients on site, and making sure every job is executed to Washington DOSH, EPA, and AHERA standards. We are looking for a supervisor who takes safety personally, holds a crew accountable without drama, and takes pride in leaving every site cleaner than it was found. Responsibilities Lead and supervise abatement crews (2-6 workers) on daily project execution from mobilization through demobilization. Read and follow project work plans, scope documents, and regulatory notifications; ensure crews perform work in accordance with the approved plan. Set up, inspect, and maintain critical barriers, negative-air containments, decontamination units, HEPA filtration, and negative pressure differentials throughout the shift. Enforce use of proper PPE (respirators, suits, gloves, footwear) and monitor crew compliance with all safety protocols at all times. Conduct pre-shift safety briefings, tool-box talks, and hazard assessments; document all safety activity. Coordinate on site with third-party industrial hygienists, project managers, general contractors, and property owners. Complete daily job logs, air-monitoring coordination notes, waste manifests, and required regulatory paperwork; ensure documentation is accurate and turned in on time. Manage removal, bagging, containerization, and proper disposal of RACM and Category I/II non-friable ACM in accordance with EPA NESHAP and WA DOSH requirements. Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members; escalate performance or safety concerns to management. Oversee equipment care — HEPA vacuums, negative-air machines, sprayers, respirators — and ensure daily inspection and maintenance. Perform final visual inspection and coordinate with the industrial hygienist for clearance sampling. Serve as the on-site point of contact for regulatory inspectors (WA L&I, EPA, local health departments) if they arrive on the job. Requirements Current Washington State Certified Asbestos Supervisor (CAS) certification issued through WA L&I. Current respirator fit test on file (within the last 12 months). Current annual physical / respirator medical clearance on file. Minimum 3 years of hands-on asbestos abatement experience , with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role. Working knowledge of WA DOSH asbestos regulations (WAC 296-62-077), EPA NESHAP, and AHERA standards. Ability to read and execute project work plans, scope documents, and regulatory notifications.

Strong on-site leadership:

comfortable directing a crew, holding the line on safety, and communicating clearly with clients, GCs, and hygienists. Attention to detail on containment integrity, PPE compliance, and documentation. Physical ability to perform the work — lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, working in a respirator and full PPE for extended periods, ladder work, and standing/kneeling for full shifts. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Puget Sound area. Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Tacoma, WA (98445). Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Preferred Qualifications Additional certifications:

lead RRP renovator, mold remediation, HAZWOPER 40. Experience with negative-air engineering, glovebag work, and full-containment removals. Prior experience running documentation for insurance-billed or public-works abatement projects. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
