Who we are looking for The Composite Technician will be responsible for composite layup, trimming, drilling, sanding and other assembly tasks related to the production of aerospace components. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality composite fabrication that supports our continued innovation in aerospace manufacturing. What you get to do
Composite Layup:
Prepare molds, apply and place composite materials following technical drawings and specifications. Perform secondary bonding of components with epoxies and resins. Vacuum bagging.
Trimming & Cutting:
Perform detailed trimming and cutting of composite materials using various tools to meet development and engineering specifications.
Drilling:
Operate hand drills and other equipment to drill holes in composite parts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering drawings.
Tooling & Molding:
Set up and use jigs, fixtures, and molds for the assembly process.
Material Handling:
Safely handle composite materials, resins, and adhesives, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Quality Assurance:
Carry out inspections and tests on composite assemblies, noting any discrepancies or defects according to set procedures.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers, quality inspectors, and team members to improve processes and maintain high-quality output. What you bring to the Team Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. Understanding of composite materials, resin systems, and adhesives. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Attention to detail. Dexterity to handle small parts and tools. Ability to work in environments that may require PPE. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience, is required. Technical or vocational training in composite technology or aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
