Job Description

Position Overview The Bench Jeweler plays an important role in supporting the craftsmanship, quality, and overall workflow of Maejean Vintage's jewelry services department. This position focuses on jewelry repair, restoration, bench work, quality control support, and maintaining the readiness of inventory for listing and sale. The Bench Jeweler works closely with the Lead Bench Jeweler and Jewelry Services Manager to help ensure consistency, efficiency, and high standards across the department. This role requires strong technical bench skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and an appreciation for antique and vintage jewelry. Key ResponsibilitiesBench Work & Craftsmanship Perform jewelry repairs, restorations, sizing, polishing, cleaning, and other bench-related work Work with a variety of metals, gemstones, and antique or delicate pieces with care and precision Support custom projects and more advanced restoration work under the guidance of the Lead Bench Jeweler Help maintain the integrity, wearability, and historical value of vintage and antique jewelry Assist in identifying potential structural or aesthetic concerns before pieces are listed or sold Follow workflow priorities, project timelines, and repair standards established by the Lead Bench Jeweler and Jewelry Services Manager Workflow & Organization Help maintain an organized, efficient, and productive bench workflow Track repair progress and communicate updates clearly with the Jewelry Services team Assist in prioritizing projects based on department and business needs Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and workspace cleanliness and organization Perform routine maintenance and care for jeweler equipment as needed Quality & Care Handle all jewelry, gemstones, and inventory with a high level of care and attention Uphold Maejean Vintage's standards for quality, craftsmanship, and presentation Follow all studio safety procedures and equipment guidelines Support accuracy and consistency across repair and restoration work Team Collaboration & Growth Work collaboratively with the Jewelry Services team, inventory team, and leadership Communicate proactively and professionally regarding workload, timelines, and project needs Remain open to feedback, continued learning, and skill development opportunities Support a positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented work environment Qualifications Bench jewelry experience and/or formal jewelry training preferred Strong foundational knowledge of jewelry repair and bench work Experience working with antique and vintage jewelry strongly preferred Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team Strong attention to detail, organization, and craftsmanship Reliable, adaptable, and willing to continue developing technical skills Expectations Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship, professionalism, and care in all work Demonstrate reliability, consistency, and accountability Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and leadership Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace Contribute positively to the culture and workflow of the Jewelry Services department What This Role Contributes The Bench Jeweler helps support the quality, craftsmanship, and efficiency of Maejean Vintage's jewelry services department, ensuring that each piece is thoughtfully prepared for its next chapter.
Pay:
$24.00 - $32.00 per hour
