Job Description
Job Summary A respected organization in the education industry is seeking an experienced Locksmith to join its facilities team in Tucson, AZ. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a skilled locksmith who takes pride in maintaining safe, secure, and reliable campus facilities. In this role, you will support daily operations by installing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining locks, keys, doors, cylinders, and access-control hardware across a diverse campus environment. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, rekey, and maintain locks, doors, cylinders, keys, and related door hardware throughout campus facilities.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on mechanical and electronic locking systems.
- Cut and duplicate keys while maintaining accurate key, lock, and access-control records.
- Respond to service requests involving locks, keys, doors, hardware, and access issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Support master key systems, campus access controls, and security-related facilities needs.
- Work closely with facilities staff and campus personnel while following established safety procedures. Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $45,000 to $50,000 per year.

Location:
Tucson, AZ. Required Qualifications and Skills- Maintain, repair, install, and service locks, keys, cylinders, doors, and access-control hardware.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic locking systems across campus facilities.
- Support key control, master key systems, and accurate security-related recordkeeping.
- Respond to facilities service requests involving locks, doors, keys, and access issues.
- 3 to 5 years of professional locksmith experience.
- Strong knowledge of locks, keys, door hardware, cylinders, and access-control systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical locks, electronic locking systems, and related hardware.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with keys, lock records, and secure access systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a facilities team.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to handle sensitive security-related information with professionalism and discretion. Preferred Qualifications
- Previous locksmith experience in a commercial, institutional, campus, or educational environment.
- Experience maintaining master key systems and key control processes.
- Familiarity with electronic access-control hardware and campus security systems.
- Experience coordinating with facilities, maintenance, security, or administrative teams in a high-traffic environment.
