Commercial Locksmith Technician IML Security Springfield, MA Job Details Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health savings account Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Customer communication Company vehicle operation Driver's License Full Job Description The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide range of commercial locking systems and door hardware. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in the field. Responsibilities Install, repair, and service commercial locks and door hardware. Rekey cylinders and maintain master key systems. Pin and rebuild lock cylinders. Install and troubleshoot electric strikes, magnetic locks, and electrified hardware. Install, adjust, and repair door closers. Install and service panic bars, exit devices, and life-safety hardware. Install and replace continuous hinges and other commercial door components. Service and maintain access control systems and electronic locking devices. Conduct security assessments and recommend solutions for commercial clients. Troubleshoot hardware and door-related issues in the field. Maintain accurate work orders, service reports, and customer documentation. Provide exceptional customer service while representing the company professionally. Participate in an on-call rotation schedule for after-hours emergency service calls. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of commercial locksmith experience preferred.
Strong experience with:
Rekeying and master key systems Pinning lock cylinders Commercial lock installation Access control systems Electric strikes Panic bars and exit devices Door closers Continuous hinges Door hardware installation and repair Ability to read and understand hardware schedules, keying schedules, and technical drawings. Experience troubleshooting commercial door and hardware issues. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Clean driving record and valid driver's license required. Ability to lift and carry equipment and work in various field environments. Preferred Qualifications Locksmith certification (ALOA or equivalent). Experience with commercial access control platforms. Low-voltage wiring experience.
