2061 York Rd, Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093 Full-Time | On-Site Advanced Security Safe and Lock is a busy family-owned locksmith security company looking for responsible Automotive/Locksmith Technicians Intern We are looking for technicians with auto mechanic backgrounds, or as such for our Baltimore Location. Are you a hands-on problem solver with a strong desire to learn a skilled trade? We're looking for a highly motivated and dependable Apprentice Locksmith to join our team at our Reisterstown Road location.

What You'll Do:

Assist experienced locksmiths with installations, repairs, and service calls Learn to work with locks, keys, safes, and security systems Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment Provide excellent customer service on-site and in the shop

Mechanic applicants should want to learn how to learn duties including repairing and servicing commercial (light truck) and non-commercial vehicles, car electrical systems (door locks and ignitions), car alarms and remote start (maintenance and install), car key cutting and programming, rekeys etc. Candidates will be mechanically inclined and willing to be trained if not familiar with the following: all types of tools and equipment normally used in the locksmith trade including, key machines (automatic, semi-automatic, flat steel, 1200cm code machines, grinder machines), portable machinery (circular saw, jig saw, belt sander, orbital sander, router, lock mortise machine), powered bench and hand tools (such as drills, grinders, compressed air), as well as non-powered hand tools.

Requirements:

Must be able to read, write and understand English Punctuality Pay attention to the needs of customers and upper management Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment to perform job functions Must be able to push/lift 50lbs or more Must be able to stoop, crouch, kneel and reach with hand and arms Require manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipment Exposed to hot and cold temperatures consistent with changing seasons up to 7 ½ hrs. per shift A valid driver's license and a clean driving record Must be able to communicate necessary part orders to management Must be willing to work as team member Mechanically inclined Ability to learn and apply new concepts Must be organized and have basic computer knowledge (register, email, etc)
