Job Description

High Point University is currently seeking a full-time Building Access Technician. This is a technical position that is very customer service focused. The selected applicant will learn to build and maintain Airtable sheets, program CCURE schedules and maps, and other various programming as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience and Training:
Minimum 18 years of age No felony convictions Experience in CCURE 9000 or similar integrated access control application preferred Experience with Video Edge/Victor or similar integrated video application preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to multi-task Ability to handle stressful situations effectively Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Open and operate the Wanek Security Services Center (SSC) desk Provide quality customer service Assist the public with general knowledge Provide maps and ponchos to campus Provide access to personnel on campus Take headshot photographs of all new personnel and students Create HPU Passports through CCURE Replace Lost HPU passports and charge appropriately Troubleshoot, fix, and/or replace damaged/malfunctioning HPU passports. Assign clearances upon request to spaces on campus through email/Airtable Maintain Card Printers/encoders Parking decals Assign parking decals in CPARK and CCURE Enforce policy on assigning appropriate decals and number of decals. Assign temporary decals Lost and Found Intake lost items Record inventory in Smartsheet Return items to appropriate owner and record chain of custody Safekeeping Maintain backup keys to multiple spaces on campus, golfcarts, escalators, contractor/Fire keys etc. Backup drop-offs point for Mailroom for large items, deliveries, mail for Prime, etc. Telecommunications Backup for CCOMM in the event they need more manpower Backup for answering phones for CCOMM if they can't answer. Answering Radio and assigning calls in CAD Talk on radio Crosstrain as a telecommunicator Emergency Communications Issue Panther Alerts where situations require Upkeep CCURE Learn and upkeep a system that has operated for over 15 years Organize CCURE and create efficient access systems Create and modify clearances as needed Communicate with outside departments to match access needs Create and maintain portals for outside department use Troubleshoot access issues around campus and find fixes within software Adjust and create scheduled events to automatically unlock doors and other functions around campus Create and monitor Door alarms for card accessed doors on campus Generate automated or manual reports for space owners or department heads Generate new ideas to utilize CCURE to optimize campus security, accessibility, and efficiency. Create and maintain interactable maps that show door and alarm locations around campus. Maintain programming of over 1k doors on campus Create and implement secure areas and alarm systems on campus Campus Requests START forms - program door access for events based on digital forms Approve or deny access requests based on credentials Website Build and maintain website links for various access points that are used across campus Special Events Staff basketball games, concerts, etc. to provide quick access requests to ensure smooth operations Staff orientations to ensure the next day passports for incoming students.
