Description:
Kamco Supply Corp. of Boston is New England's largest one stop source and distributor of commercial building products including acoustical ceiling systems, architectural doors and hardware, drywall, steel framing, insulation, and exterior systems. The Kamco Lock Solutions' Professional Locksmith is responsible for installing, repairing, servicing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic locking systems and all types of commercial door hardware. This role ensures secure, functional lock and door systems while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities :
Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrified locks, door hardware, and access system products Service, troubleshoot and repair Automatic Door Openers Rekey and Master key all types of lock cylinders, and change safe lock combinations Cut, decode and duplicate keys using key cutting equipment Open locks using appropriate locksmith tools and opening techniques Coordinate/Identify materials and parts for projects when needed Maintain accurate documentation of service work performed and maintain keying systems Follow all company safety standards and site-specific safety requirements Protect confidential customer and company information, including keying records and proprietary data Perform After hours / On Call service as needed when scheduled via rotation Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently Reliable work habits and professionalism is a must
Requirements:
Education & Experience Minimum 2-5 years of locksmith or related hands-on experience (or equivalent training/education) Experience with commercial door hardware and access systems preferred Basic locksmith skills such as rekeying and key duplication are required Experience with automatic door openers is preferred Work Environment Primarily a road service position with occasional shop work Job duties will include: Daily driving of company supplied service van Standing for extended periods Use of tools and machinery Ladder work and physical activity Must adhere to all safety standards and job site regulations Working hours are typically M-F 7am-4pm Daily Additional Requirements Valid driver's license; Sound driving record DOT Card (if operating company vehicle); Must pass a DOT Physical, lift test, and drug screen. Ability to pass company driving/non-DOT requirements Maintain confidentiality of sensitive keying systems and customer data Preferred Certifications Locksmith certification (e.g., ALOA or equivalent) OSHA or safety certifications Experience with Automatic Door Openers Experience with electronic products and basic knowledge of access control systems We offer a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid vacation, holidays, and MORE!
