CNC Machinist Location:
Birmingham, AL Pay Rate:
$32.00 per hour
Night Shift:
Monday-Wednesday, 6 PM-6:30 AM & Thursday 6 PM-2:30 AM Machines Don't Run Without You. As a CNC Machinist in Birmingham, your hands, eyes, and experience keep the line in motion. Tight specs, real challenges, and results you can measure. This is where precision meets pride.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Vocational or Technical Degree in CNC Machining preferred. Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience combined with technical training, or 4+ years of CNC machining experience. Proven CNC machine setup and operation experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Experience using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Knowledge of CNC programming, G-Code, M-Code, and troubleshooting techniques. Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and quality control standards. Experience working in a manufacturing, medical device, aerospace, or precision machining environment is preferred. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:
Set up, operate, and adjust CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment to produce high-precision medical device components. Manufacture parts to exact specifications while maintaining tight tolerances and exceptional quality standards. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. Utilize G-Code and M-Code knowledge to troubleshoot machining programs and optimize production performance. Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Identify and document non-conforming materials or parts and support corrective actions. Follow ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing principles, and established safety procedures. Ensure inspection and measurement equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and part traceability. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and process optimization.
