Job Description

Job Summary The CNC Machinist is responsible for set-up and operating both large & medium sized horizontal and vertical multi axis CNC mills and / or lathes. Must be analytical, think through and troubleshoot equipment and or tooling. Works from programming instructions, operational data and machine setup instructions, defining and coding tool arrangements, material clamping methods, machine calibrations and console Settings.
Job Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders. Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and work instructions. Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs. Conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. Operate saws, grinders, welding, and flame-cutting equipment as required. Use hand tools (e.g., grinders, chisels, saws) and lifting tools (e.g., cranes, forklifts, hand carts) safely and effectively. Complete jobs according to production schedules and deadlines. Adhere to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements. Contribute to a team-based work environment that supports continuous improvement and quality objectives. Select tooling, and machining strategies for high-precision turning operations. Edit and optimize CNC programs at the machine to improve cycle time, surface finish, and tool life. Verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.) and ensure compliance with tight tolerances Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of management to meet operational needs.
Requirements:
Knowledge of tooling, setup, program validation, and machine recovery. Strong problem-solving skills applied to a wide range of production challenges. Intermediate knowledge of CAD/CAM software. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, specifications and shop aid sketches Ability to handle complex situations and solve complex problems Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines Ability to press and analyze technical and business information Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a machining role.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Productivity :
Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.
Mobility :
Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
Vision :
Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.
Environment:
Typical manufacturing shop floor conditions, directly working with Manufacturing management team and external customers.
Other Factors:
Typical hours worked are Monday - Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 03:00 p.m. Incumbents are currently required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime, as applicable by law. Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Often required; reach with hands and arms; and stoop. Occasionally required to; climb or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Pay:
$29.00 - $33.00 per hour
