In this role, you will operate and set up manual machining equipment to produce precision parts and components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise in mechanical processes, tooling, and measurement will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex manufacturing projects that demand accuracy, craftsmanship, and technical proficiency. Duties Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to determine machining requirements. Operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining tools with precision. Set up and calibrate equipment using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to perform cutting, drilling, threading, and finishing operations. Read and analyze CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files and utilize CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming for complex parts when necessary. Conduct inspections of machined parts using coordinate measuring machines (CMM), dial indicators, and other measurement devices to ensure dimensional accuracy. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate forklifts when required for material handling. Assist with assembly processes or welding tasks as needed for complete component fabrication. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste in machining operations. Experience Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar precision machining role within a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical knowledge of machining processes, tooling setups, and material properties. Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T standards. Familiarity with CNC programming concepts such as CNC lathe/milling machine operation (Fanuc controls preferred). Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques is a plus. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks or general CAD tools; ability to interpret CAD files for machining purposes. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and feed rates; understanding of manufacturing principles including plastics injection molding is advantageous. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift safely and efficiently.
