1st Shift CNC Lathe Lead Machinist

SUMMARY

Without the strength of our manufacturing team, we would not be able to offer industry-leading service we're known for. We're seeking experienced Machinist to work in the manufacturing shop. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as a Machinist.

The Lead Machinist assist the Machine Shope Supervisor in managing production for particular job or set of products. They recommend strategies in ensuring that the production process is completed successfully, in accordance with all specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

& RESPONSIBILITIESOperates and maintains CNC Lathe machines.

Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.

Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping using SMI, calipers, mics, and height gages.

Set up jobs and select appropriate settings for a given task.

Read and understand sketches, drawings, and work instructions.

Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary and verifying resultsChecks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.

Identifiesneed for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.

Makesdecisionsindependently asrequired.

Safely performs tasks, follows applicable safety practices, policies, and safe work behavior.

Maintains a safe and clean workstation.

Contributes to team effort byaccomplishingrelated tasks as needed.

Recommendsstrategiestoensurethe product is developed successfully,in accordance withall specifications.

Workwith supervisor and otherteamleads toprioritizestaffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedulesare met.

Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment,materialsand labor toMachine ShopSupervisor.

Work closely with support staff such as Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisor,Program Managers, Plannersand Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues.

Multi-task, take initiative, and communicate clearly with your team and management.

Trains and mentors new team members.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 1 year experience as a lathe operator or technician Ability to read, speak and write in English

REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors production in the CNC Lathe department.

Experience setting up and operating CNC Lathe is required.

Conventional machining experience is a plusExcellent coordination and mechanical skillsStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and safetySolid written and verbal communication skillsCurrent or active security clearance is a plusProficient in mathBasic computer skillsUnderstand GD&TMachining training is a plusExperience on HAAS equipment is a plusComposite experience is a plusPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment is a requirement, in the aerospace industry is a plusProgramming is a plus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or

GED ITAR REQUIREMENTS
