Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC machines to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring the highest quality standards are met. Responsibilities Set up CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper tooling and calibration for each job. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications and tolerances. Operate manual machining tools when necessary, including grinders, calipers, micrometers, hand tools, and power tools for fine adjustments. Conduct precision measurements using measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges to verify part dimensions against specifications. Perform quality inspections on machined parts utilizing GD&T principles and CNC quality inspection techniques. Maintain proper machine setup procedures, troubleshoot issues promptly, and ensure adherence to safety standards while working efficiently within lean manufacturing practices. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as lathes and milling machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including experience with CAM software is highly preferred. Skilled in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with CAD software like MasterCam or similar programs for part design review. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining tools, measurement instruments, tooling setups, and manual machining techniques. Ability to perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes. Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances relevant to machining tasks. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to interpret blueprints accurately is essential. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials safely, and work with power tools as required.
