Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Milling Machine Machinist 3's for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o High School diploma or equivalent and 10 years related machining experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment. o Experience in programming and operating a 3 axis and/or 5 axis CNC machine (with simultaneous movements) o Experience in Mastercam or related Cam software o Experience in GD&T in design and manufacturing process o Ability to design and create customized fixtures and tooling for jobs
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a Milling Machine Machinist 3 to support our Tooling department. o Sets up and operates manual or universal, horizontal, or vertical milling machines to perform machining operations such as compound angles and contours, boring compound angular holes, doing helical and spiral milling; serrating; and gear, spline, and keyway cutting to exacting tolerances. o Selects, mounts, and aligns various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling, plans sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup, determines, sets, and adjusts speeds, feeds, and depth of cut. o Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications. o Uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments. o Makes standard shop computations. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining. o May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. o Requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. o Fabrication of parts, assemblies, installations, and repair of production metal products using HAAS 3 and 5 axis mill machines o Operate under restrictive policies regarding FOE (Foreign Object Debris), clean as you go, and housekeeping. o Adhere to safety policies not limited to safety glasses. Proper PPE (personal protective equipment), and hazardous waste requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

): o Experience in programming and operating a 3 axis and/or 5 axis CNC machine (with simultaneous movements) o Experience in Mastercam or related Cam software o Experience in GD&T in design and manufacturing process o Ability to design and create customized fixtures and tooling for jobs o Experience working in an Aviation Rapid Prototype and/or Experimental Fabrication Environment o Experience using NX or CAD modeling programs o Experience working from Composites, Al, Ti, and Inconel o Active U.S. Government Secret level clearance last investigated within 5 1/2 years. o Experience with Aerospace Parts o Experience in a team environment o Innovative and self-motivated o Knowledge of
ERP/SAP PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
o This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces o Ability to pass a new hire Physical.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED is required. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS
Full-Time 4/10 workweek. This position will serve on-site at Palmdale CA.
Pay:
$75.00 - $86.55 per hour
