Job Description
Cogitic is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in a high-mix, low-volume environment supporting critical national defense programs. This role is responsible for setting up and operating advanced CNC equipment, proving out programs, troubleshooting machining challenges, and producing complex, high-quality components. What You'll Do Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines Read and interpret blueprints, models, tolerances, and GD&T Review and prove out CNC programs using Mastercam and NCSimul Utilize Renishaw probing and tool-setting systems Machine complex components, including exotic and heat-resistant alloys Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools Troubleshoot machining issues and improve setups, cycle times, and quality Maintain accurate work order and process documentation in ProShop ERP What We're Looking For 5-10 years of machining experience Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Programming, Drafting, or related field Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling Strong blueprint reading, GD&T, and mechanical problem-solving skills Experience with CNC setup and complex machining processes Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office U.S. citizenship Ability to pass a background check and obtain/maintain a security clearance You should be proficient in: CNC Tooling CNC Machine Setup & Changeover Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology Machine Setups for Production Runs
