Overview We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure that parts meet strict quality standards while optimizing efficiency and productivity. Duties Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, including Okuma-controlled equipment, ensuring proper tooling and fixture installation. Modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles for precise manufacturing. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions. Conduct machine calibration, tooling changes, and routine maintenance to maintain optimal machining conditions. Inspect finished components for quality compliance through CNC quality inspection techniques and measurement standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with team members on process improvements following lean manufacturing principles. Assist in machine setup adjustments for plastics injection molding or other related manufacturing processes when required. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC lathes with proficiency in CNC programming using G-code and M-code; familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and GD&T standards. Hands-on experience with machining tools such as grinders, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to machining tolerances and measurements. Mechanical knowledge of metal machining processes including turning, threading, bore operations, and manual machining techniques. Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or CAD programs used for tooling design is advantageous. Understanding of manufacturing workflows including lean principles and quality control procedures. Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely within a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
