Job Description

Job Description Manual Machinist PTR - Precision Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Manual Machinist to join our Manufacturing department. The position is responsible for operating manual machines such as the Bridgeport and lathe and performing sub-assemblies and final assemblies. PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. is a member of the Global Beam Technologies group, the largest manufacturer of electron beam welding and drilling systems in the world. PTR manufactures Electron Beam Welding Systems for the North American market and provides process development, service, training, and job shop EB welding services at our Enfield, CT plant.
Responsibilities:
  • Operates manual machines, including Bridgeport and Lathe
  • Machines details to print
  • Performs mechanical assembly of machine tool equipment
  • Fabricates and assembles components using blueprints, operating sheets, and sketches of average to complex components
  • Fits and shims parts
  • Performs sub-assemblies and final assemblies
  • Uses precision instruments for alignment of tooling
  • Aids machine operators with mechanical problems
  • Occasionally travels to customer sites to install equipment
  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience preferred
  • Experience with operating Bridgeport Lathe
  • Proto Trak experience a plus
  • Proficient at reading blueprints
  • Mechanical ability
  • Working knowledge of hand and power tools
