Summary:
Plan and perform various CNC turning and milling operations to machine a variety of metal parts.
Essential Functions:
Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machinesWork from blueprints, engineering instructions, specifications, and blueprintsMeasure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.

Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operationsAlign and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machinesSelect appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machine workCheck part to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooledOperate equipment to verify operational efficiencyClean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matterMaintain records and documents in-process inspection data as requiredReport faulty or unusual conditions to the appropriate level of supervisionAdhere to standards of safety and housekeeping standardsOperate and measure machinePerform other related duties or responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related dataHigh School Degree or G.E.D3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist Desired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional levelAbility to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organizationAbility to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practicesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructionsMust have strong attention to detailAbility to set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines.

Ability to read and understand engineering work instructions. Ability to measure using standard shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close established tolerances.

Knowledge of appropriate speeds and feeds for materials and toolsKnowledge of machines codes and G codes.
