  • Position Summary The CNC Machinist at Integra-Cast will set up, program, and operate CNC milling and turning (lathe) equipment to produce precision aluminum and other alloy components to demanding tolerances. The ideal candidate will be able to read engineering drawings, select tooling and cutting parameters, and troubleshoot machining issues to meet quality, productivity, and safety goals.
  • Key Responsibilities Review engineering drawings, work orders, and blueprints to determine machining requirements (tolerances, surface finish, dimensions) Program or load CNC programs (G-code/M-code) as needed and verify for correctness Set up CNC machines (milling, turning) - install tooling, fixtures, work holding, offsets, and zero points Perform first-article checks and tool proofing; adjust feed/speed, tool path, or tooling as necessary Operate CNC machines in accordance with process specifications, monitoring feeds, speeds, coolant, and chip control Load/unload parts, inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMMs, gauges) Deburr, clean, and finish machined parts as required Document production data, job traveler entries, scrap, tool usage, and shift logs Identify and diagnose issues (tool wear, chatter, machine malfunctions), and implement corrective actions Suggest improvements to process instructions, fixturing, tooling, and machining strategies to boost efficiency and quality Maintain and calibrate measuring instruments and inspection tools Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on CNC equipment Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, complying with all safety and environmental rules Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and tooling groups to support new product launches and process changes Perform additional duties as assigned •Qualifications & Skills Required Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC machinist, preferably in aerospace, medical, or precision machining environments (Integra-Cast has advertised requiring "at least five years of experience" in recent Machinist postings) Integra-Cast, Inc.
+1 Experience with Mori Seiki / Fanuc control systems, particularly Mori Fanuc 18 and horizontal machining, is strongly preferred (based on recent job posts), Integra-Cast, Inc. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerancing, and blueprint reading Strong knowledge of machining theory: feeds, speeds, cutting tool selection, work holding Experience with setup and operation of multi-axis CNC mills and lathes Hands-on capability with precision measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, gauges, height indicators, CMMs Hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, and high quality under production pressures Strong work ethic and self-management skills (able to prioritize and manage own workload) Good communication skills and ability to work on a team Must meet physical demands: lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for long periods, bending, reaching, etc. Integra-Cast, Inc. g. knowledge of NADCAP, AS9100, clean room practices) Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Gibbs CAM) Experience with SPC, process capability studies, and statistical process control Experience with tooling design, fixture design, or process development Willingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed
  • Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Industrial manufacturing environment with noise, coolant, chips, and machine tool operations Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) - safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
Ability to safely lift and maneuver parts and tooling (up to 50 lbs or more) May require overtime, weekend work, or shift work depending on production needs Must maintain attention to detail and focus over long periods You should be proficient in: Deburring Experience Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
