Conley, GA Job Details Full-time 14 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Specialized industrial tools Precision measurement in machining Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform precision machining and rebuilding of heavy-duty diesel engine components, ensuring all work meets strict OEM specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform engine block machining including boring, honing, line boring, and decking. Machine cylinder heads, including valve jobs, surfacing, and installing guides/seats. Operate specialized shop machinery (e.g., Rottier, Sunnen, or Berco equipment). Clean and inspect engine parts using magnetic particle testing (magnafluxing). Measure components with extreme precision using micrometers, dial bore gauges, and calipers. Performing regular maintenance on machinery and tools. Working with mechanics, and other technicians.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3-5+ years of automotive or heavy-duty diesel machine shop experience required.
Technical Skills:
Ability to read blueprints, micrometers, and technical OEM specification manuals.
Equipment:
Prior experience operating manual lathes, mills, and dedicated engine machining equipment.
Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision tolerances Physical requirements: standing, walking, lifting (often over 50 lbs), and working in various positions like stooping, kneeling, and bending. Dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to use tools are also essential.
