Job Description

CNC Lathe Machinist Job Description This position is for a CNC Lathe Machinist in a job shop environment where you will often receive blueprints or engineering drawings to machine parts for conveyor systems. You will also have troubleshooting responsibilities due to the custom nature of the equipment, as jobs may not always proceed as planned. You will work independently, organizing your priorities as there are no other machinists on staff. The equipment used includes a Haas
ST-28 CNC
Lathe machine.
Pay Range:
$30-40/hr Responsibilities Set up and edit programs for a CNC Lathe machine. Read and interpret blueprints accurately. Primarily use lathes for machining shafts. Troubleshoot and partner with other employees to address any engineering issues. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience in CNC Lathe Machining. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency in utilizing fabrication tools. Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve production issues. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in job shop environments. Ability to edit G Code, M Code. Familiarity with Haas equipment. Manual machining skills. High School Diploma required; Trade School education would be a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a medium-sized fabrication and welding production shop with 20-25 employees on the shop floor, equipped with overhead cranes and other industrial machinery. The environment requires independence and organizational skills to handle custom equipment and tasks effectively. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
