Job Description
Job Overview We supply commercial door hardware — door closers, cylindrical locks, geared hinges, trims, and components. We will start manufacturing geared hinges overselves soon . This role is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of our CNC machine and a separate manual/bench drill press located in the back of the warehouse near the CNC cell. You'll work hands-on with tooling, fixturing, and programs used to hold tight tolerances on hinge components, and you'll work directly under our President — an experienced machinist with deep expertise in door hardware manufacturing — who will mentor you on machine-specific programming, setup, and process technique. This is a strong fit for someone who wants to build serious CNC and precision-machining skill under direct, hands-on mentorship. Starts with a 1-week trial period, moving to full-time based on performance. Duties Operate the CNC machine end-to-end: load/edit programs, set work and tool offsets, select and change tooling Perform preventive maintenance on the CNC machine Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults; replace worn components Perform tool changes , offset corrections, and fixture/workholding adjustments during changeovers between hinge components and other hardware parts Work directly with the President on program edits, tooling selection, feeds/speeds optimization, and process improvements specific to our hinge and hardware product lines. Qualifications Experience as a CNC machine operator, CNC setup technician, or machinery mechanic in a metal manufacturing environment Working knowledge of CNC controls Solid mechanical troubleshooting skills; working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and basic industrial electrical/controls troubleshooting Door Hardware experience is a PLUS Safety-minded, eager to learn, detail-oriented, and reliable Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $20/hour Health insurance, PTO/holidays Your growth is in your hands!
