6:00am-4:00pm QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity for a CNC/Manual Mill Machinist position at a company in Machesney Park, IL. This is a 1st shift direct hire position. CNC/Manual Mill Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operating & programming Haas CNC mill and lathe machines safely and productively.
  • Ability to perform your own setups and produce quality parts from drawings with minimal supervision.
  • Planning machining processes by studying detailed/complex blueprints and work orders; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Downloading/editing programs by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
  • Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces.
  • Partnering with engineering on R D projects.
  • Maintaining quality control through inspections.
  • Keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
CNC/Manual Mill Machinist Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably in a custom machine shop environment.
  • Experience running Haas CNC equipment preferred but not required.
  • Excellent safety practices and mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Ability to read machine drawings/blueprints.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through with assignments as provided.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and maintain good attendance.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Desire to produce quality products.
