We take pride in our rich history and dedication to innovation, and we're excited to invite you to become part of our team at our Oregon, IL facility. Duties and Responsibilities + Set up and operate various types of machine tools such as lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, etc., selecting proper feeds and speeds + Work from drawings, sketches and verbal instructions to make parts. + Work to close tolerances + Makes fixtures for machines + Use precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work + Perform hand operations such as filing, fitting, tapping, etc. + Perform preventative maintenance lubrication + Keep work area and equipment clean + Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization. + And other duties as assigned. Qualifications + High School Diploma, or equivalent + Completed Machinist Apprenticeship program or 3-5 years experience in a machine shop + Knowledge of precision measuring devices + The ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and sketches + A proven mechanical aptitude + Advanced shop mathematics skills + Broad knowledge of machine shop practices + Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve + Strong work ethic and follow through + Must consistently use safety devices when operating machines + Attention to detail a must
