Job Description

PROMAN Staffing has partnered with Power Services Group in Oswego, IL. We are hiring a Manual Machinist.
Shift:
1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-2:30PM (Overtime as needed)
Pay Rate:
$25.00-$30.00/hr
Manual Machinist Summary:
Machine complex, high-precision parts for equipment repairs. Operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments. Read blueprints and technical drawings to machine parts to specifications. Perform mechanical work including assembly and disassembly as required.
Manual Machinist Responsibilities:
Machine parts to specifications using manual machining equipment. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools. Evaluate machining procedures and recommend improvements for efficiency and adaptability. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management. Perform assembly and disassembly work as needed. Manage and organize workload while supporting team objectives.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience operating manual machining equipment preferred. Experience in a manufacturing machining environment preferred. Proficient with measuring tools and working with close tolerances. Ability to read blueprints and work with metric measurements. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written instructions and procedures. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic math skills required. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or sit for extended periods. Crane and forklift experience is a plus; training available. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred. Why PROMAN Staffing?
