Job Description

CNC Machinist - 1st & 2nd
Shift Pay:
$20-$32/hr (based on experience) Join a team where your machining expertise is valued, your ideas matter, and your work directly supports high‑quality production. We're looking for a skilled CNC Machinist who enjoys problem‑solving, running modern equipment, and producing precision parts in a clean, well‑organized environment.
What You'll Do Plan & Prepare:
Review work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and GD&T to determine machining requirements
Manage Materials:
Track stock inventory, anticipate needs, and coordinate timely replenishment
Program Equipment:
Write and input programs for mills and lathes with accurate calculations and tool paths
Set Up Machines:
Install and adjust tools, fixtures, and components for efficient, repeatable setups
Run & Inspect:
Load feed mechanisms, verify settings, and measure first‑piece and in‑process parts
Maintain Quality:
Monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all parts meet specifications
Stay Safe:
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard‑free work area Care for
Equipment:
Perform preventive maintenance and address malfunctions promptly
Document Work:
Complete production logs, quality records, and shift‑to‑shift communication notes
Keep Growing:
Participate in training and educational opportunities to expand your machining skills
What You Bring Experience:
3-5+ years of CNC machining in a production or job‑shop environment
Technical Skills:
Strong blueprint reading, machine operation, and inspection using calipers and other tools
Math Ability:
Solid understanding of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
Equipment Knowledge:
Experience with mills, lathes, and various machining technologies Additional Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Strong communication and technical problem‑solving skills Ability to manage inventory and support efficient workflow High attention to detail and sound judgment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
