Negotiable DOE Job Summary We are supporting a confidential custom automation and equipment manufacturer seeking a CNC Machinist to support the machining and fabrication of components used in engineered, one-off automation builds. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined, early-to-mid career machinist who has exposure to CNC programming and is eager to grow their skillset. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a non-repetitive, project-based environment, and is interested in expanding into programming, manual machining, and design collaboration. This team is open to developing the right individual and provides training in areas such as Fusion 360 programming and cross-functional machining support. Required Skills & Qualifications 1+ years of hands-on experience with CNC mills and/or lathes Exposure to CNC programming (Fusion 360 or similar CAM software preferred) Basic understanding of G-code or CAM-generated toolpaths Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical sketches Experience using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time across projects Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience with manual machining equipment (mills, lathes, etc.) Exposure to custom, prototype, or low-volume machining environments Experience supporting assembly teams or rework machining Familiarity with tooling setup, fixtures, and work holding Interest in learning CNC programming and design-side concepts Background in job shop, technical school, or hands-on fabrication environments Day-to-Day Responsibilities Assist with programming, setup, and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes Support machining of custom components to meet print and tolerance requirements Set up tooling, fixtures, and work holding devices Perform manual machining operations as needed Conduct in-process and final quality inspections Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches Maintain machines, tooling, and a clean, organized work area Collaborate with engineering and assembly teams on custom builds and rework Support continuous improvement efforts across machining processes Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions may include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30-50 lbs, working at varying heights, and operating in a manufacturing environment.
