Moldmaker/Toolmaker/Machinist Convextech IT Inc - 3.0 Haubstadt, IN Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $85,000 a year 5 hours ago Qualifications Mechanical quality control procedures Full Job Description Must have Skills if any: Have 5 years of injection mold building experience Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Moldmaker/Toolmaker/Machinist role based in Indiana, United States. The individual in this role will build, assemble, and repair plastic injection molds and related tooling, using manual and CNC machines to produce high-precision components. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings, setting up and operating mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM equipment, and verifying dimensions and tolerances with appropriate measuring instruments. The role also involves troubleshooting tooling issues, performing mold maintenance, collaborating with engineers and teammates on design improvements, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. The Moldmaker/Toolmaker/Machinist will support production timelines, follow quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. Qualifications Strong moldmaking and toolmaking skills, including experience with plastic injection molds, insert molds, and precision tooling. Proficiency in machining operations such as milling, turning, grinding, and EDM, with hands-on experience using manual and CNC equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and work instructions, and apply GD&T and tight tolerance requirements. Skilled in using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) and performing quality checks to verify accuracy and fit. Experience with mold assembly, fitting, polishing, maintenance, and troubleshooting tooling and machining issues. Working knowledge of shop math, materials used in mold manufacturing (tool steels, alloys), and safe machining practices. Effective problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team environment and support production goals. Ability to work on-site full time in Indiana, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high level of attention to detail and workmanship.
