Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Precision CNC Machinist to operate, program, and maintain CNC machines in a precision job shop environment. This role involves working on complex, low-volume, high-accuracy components and ensuring tight tolerances, quality standards, and efficient machining processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Operate CNC Mills, CNC Lathe, and CNC Boring Mills to produce precision parts and components
Programming & Setup:
Set up and run CNC machines based on engineering drawings and specifications
Precision Machining:
Manufacture one-off or small batch complex components with tight tolerances
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts and remove defects to ensure compliance with specifications
Machine Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are operating efficiently
Modifications:
Adjust parts and processes to improve production accuracy and efficiency
Measurement & Inspection:
Use precision measuring instruments to calculate and verify dimensions and tolerances
Collaboration:
Work with engineering and controls teams on custom machine builds, fixtures, and gauges
Required Qualifications:
Experience programming and operating CNC Mills, CNC Lathe, and/or CNC Boring Mills Strong experience in precision machining and tight tolerance work Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical prints Strong understanding of machining tools, setups, and machine operations Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) Strong mathematical and analytical skills High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset Experience working in job shop or low-volume custom manufacturing environment
