CNC Operator - OD Grinder Job Description Join a clean, climate-controlled machine shop in Mishawaka, IN as a CNC Operator focused on OD grinding. In this role, you set up and operate multiple Moore OD grinders, work from prints to maintain tight tolerances, and ensure each part meets precise quality standards for aerospace components. Responsibilities Set up and operate Moore OD grinders, including multiple wet and dry grinders in the grind room. Work from engineering prints and drawings to hold tight tolerances up to approximately ±0.0005 inch. Adjust tapers on OD grinders to achieve required dimensions and surface finishes. Use quality instruments and gauges to verify that parts meet specified dimensions and client specifications. Perform basic quality control checks on parts, primarily visual inspections, to confirm they meet standards. Operate other CNC equipment and machines as needed within the machine shop. Pack finished parts onto pallets in a safe and organized manner for shipment or further processing. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve machining or quality issues promptly. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a smaller, clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled machine shop that manufactures parts for the aerospace industry. You will primarily work in the grind room, operating multiple Moore OD grinders, including both wet and dry grinders, along with other CNC equipment as needed. The environment emphasizes precision and quality, with regular use of measuring instruments and visual inspection of parts. This is a first-shift position, providing consistent daytime hours. The facility layout supports efficient material flow, from machining and inspection through to packing finished parts onto pallets. Standard industrial work attire is appropriate for this setting, along with any required personal protective equipment in accordance with safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mishawaka, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
