The Role We are seeking a full-time machinist or mechanically inclined manufacturing professional to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with machining experience who enjoys problem solving, learning, and taking ownership of their work. Strong candidates may come from CNC machining, manual machining, job shop work, repair work, toolmaking, maintenance, automotive, fabrication, or other hands-on manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable reading prints, working with precision measurements, and contributing to the process of taking a job from print to finished part. Experience with CNC and/or manual equipment is highly valued, but we are also willing to invest in and develop the right motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude and the right attitude. What You'll Be Doing Reading and interpreting mechanical prints and tolerances Setting up and operating manual and CNC lathes, mills, and grinders Writing and editing G-Code programs from scratch Running short-run and repair work from raw stock to finished part Performing in-process quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools Managing jobs independently from setup through completion What We're Looking For Machining experience in a job shop, repair, manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, automotive, or other hands-on technical environment preferred CNC machining and/or G-Code programming experience is highly valued, including the ability to edit programs and understand machining processes Familiarity with manual machine tools, CNC equipment, precision measuring tools, and blueprint reading Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn and grow Vocational training, apprenticeship, trade school, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred What We Offer 100% employer-paid health insurance Dental insurance 401k plan with company contribution Paid major holidays and vacation time Free uniforms Full-time, long-term employment, the majority of our team has built long careers here Locally owned company with a stable 50-year track record and a respectful, professional work environment How to Apply Apply on Indeed or in person at: Action Machine Inc. 1847 Prairie Ave South Bend, IN 46613
