Job Description

This position is located in Great Bend, KS.
JOB SUMMARY
The experienced CNC machinist position is a shift based, front line employee who is responsible for operating various CNC machines and serves as a flexible resource for production. This position is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and optimization of CNC programs, improving existing tooling and fixtures, designing and constructing new tooling for production as needed. This position will serve as a resource for developing, implementing, and training on best practices. The tool and fixture builder should have leadership capabilities and a demonstrated positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Able and willing to maneuver between tasks, at a moments notice, to fulfill production needs.
  • Helps develop best operational practices and delivers training on key topics throughout the facility.
  • Machine parts to blueprint specifications on a variety of conventional and computer-controlled manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and change programming as required.
  • Record, in a timely manner, accurate production/material usage information to ensure the integrity and record accuracy of physical inventory and labor tracking.
  • Conduct first part and other quality checks required.
  • Using precision measuring instruments, ensure that parts/products meet all design specifications.
  • Performs set ups on multiple machining centers as needed
  • Perform routine machine operations as assigned, utilizing blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, precision measuring instruments, hand tools, computer programs, and other documents and instruments as required.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and other equipment.
  • Work in multiple work cells and various equipment as assigned.
  • Designs, fabricates, improves, and repairs cutting tools, tooling, fixtures, and gages.
  • Manufacture repair parts for machinery.
  • Assist other CNC operators with troubleshooting, machining, and programming questions as needed.
  • Continuously learns to operate new CNC machines (Lathes and Mills)
  • Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to operate multiple CNC machines (Lathes and Mills) as needed
  • Consistently demonstrates a positive attitude towards their work and towards others.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the fluid power industry
  • 2+ years of experience in the fluid power industry
