Table Welder Job Description This role focuses on operating laser cutting and press brake equipment to produce precision metal components in a fast-paced fabrication and welding shop. You will interpret engineering drawings, set up and run CNC and manual equipment, and ensure all parts meet strict quality and dimensional standards while supporting overall production goals. Responsibilities Operate laser cutting machines to produce precision-cut metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. Set up, program, and monitor laser equipment to ensure clean cuts, proper tolerances, and consistent part quality. Operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal parts, verifying angles, dimensions, and alignment using appropriate measuring tools. Operate drill presses to drill, tap, countersink, and machine holes in metal components as required by job specifications. Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting to keep equipment running efficiently. Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with quality standards. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings to complete jobs accurately and on schedule. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all shop safety procedures and required personal protective equipment (PPE) practices. Collaborate closely with fabrication and welding teams to support production flow and meet daily manufacturing goals. Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced machine shop environment. Work with flux core and stainless steel materials as part of the fabrication and welding process. Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools. Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality standards. Ability to perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting. Experience working with flux core and stainless steel materials. Capability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC operation in a fabrication or welding shop environment. Experience in metal fabrication, including forming and shaping components to specification. Comfort working with multiple types of fabrication and welding equipment and willingness to cross-train on different machines. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and maintain an orderly work area. Willingness to work overtime as needed, typically 6-11 hours per week. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a non-climate-controlled fabrication and welding shop that operates multiple types of metalworking equipment, including laser cutting machines, press brakes, drill presses, and other fabrication tools. You will work on a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or a second shift from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with regular opportunities for 6-11 hours of overtime each week. The shop environment is hands-on and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
