Job Title:

CNC Machinist Job Description This role is for an experienced CNC Machinist who sets up, programs, and operates CNC equipment to produce precision parts, with a strong focus on Mazak machines and multi-axis machining. You will interpret blueprints, perform true machining (not just machine operation), and ensure parts meet exact specifications while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized work area on a first-shift schedule. Responsibilities

+ Study blueprints, sketches, and work instructions to determine sequence of operations, setup requirements, and machining processes.

+ Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on CNC machines to produce parts to specification.

+ Calculate and set machine controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth of cut, and angle of cut.

+ Enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.

+ Start up and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, adjusting machine controls or programs as required.

+ Set up and operate machines on trial runs to verify accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data before full production.

+ Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using measuring and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision instruments.

+ Perform true machining work including setups and runs, rather than only basic machine operation or button pushing.

+ Work with Mazak CNC lathes and mills, including 3-5 axis machining and Millturn equipment, to produce complex parts.

+ Collaborate and confer with production personnel, programmers, and other team members to resolve machining or assembly issues.

+ Maintain cleanliness of machinery and keep the work area organized and free of debris.

+ Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines at all times while operating machinery and working in the facility. Essential Skills

+ High School Diploma or GED .

+ Minimum of 3+ years of recent CNC machining experience.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches accurately.

+ Strong knowledge of CNC machines and machining processes.

+ Hands-on experience working with Mazak machines, including CNC lathes and mills.

+ Experience with 3-5 axis machining; 4 and 5 axis experience preferred.
