Job Title:

Manual Machinist Job Description As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for machining parts for rotating equipment such as pumps, shafts, couplings, rings, cases, turbines, and valves. You will operate manual mills and lathes, primarily working with steel and stainless steel. Precision is key, as you will work to a tolerance of .5/1000 of an inch. Responsibilities Operate manual mills and lathes to machine parts. Work primarily with steel and stainless steel. Ensure precision machining with a tolerance of .5/1000 of an inch. Utilize skills in horizontal boring mill, VTL, and manual machining. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Use tools such as calipers, micrometers, and drill presses. Essential Skills 4+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist. Proficiency in operating manual mills and lathes. Experience with horizontal boring mills (HBM) and vertical turret lathes (VTL). Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Skill in using precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with grinding and machining processes. Familiarity with drill press operations. VTL and HBM skills are highly desirable. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday from 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Work on Saturday and Sunday is typically reserved for emergencies and is compensated at double time, as are holidays. The indoor shop is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable work environment. Employees enjoy 8 holidays and 2 floating holidays, along with a 10% PM shift differential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenner, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $44.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
