Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, modifying, and repairing metal components using manual machining techniques. Your expertise will ensure precision and quality in every part produced, contributing to the success of our manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about craftsmanship, mechanical precision, and hands-on machining. Duties Operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce high-quality metal parts according to specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements. Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to ensure parts meet strict tolerances. Set up and calibrate machines for each job, including selecting appropriate tooling and adjusting machine parameters. Perform quality inspections utilizing CNC quality inspection techniques and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify part accuracy. Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols when handling power tools, hand tools, grinders, and other equipment. Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives related to machining processes and tooling. Requirements Proven experience in manual machining operations with a strong understanding of machining tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and boring equipment. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings accurately. Solid knowledge of measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments. Familiarity with CNC programming concepts such as G-code and M-code is a plus but not mandatory; experience with CNC programming is advantageous. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements. Mechanical knowledge related to metalworking processes including grinding, milling, turning, and drilling. Ability to set up machines efficiently while ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times. Experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or similar programs for understanding design intent is helpful, but not required Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality control during manufacturing processes. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity using hand tools and power tools safely.
