Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fabricating tools, dies, and fixtures using a variety of manual and numerically controlled equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of blueprint reading and machining processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain all tool room equipment to ensure efficient operations. Troubleshoot and resolve machining problems as they arise. Read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Perform precise machining tasks, including squaring details and cutting shapes. Use manual and CNC equipment, such as cylindrical and surface grinders, lathes, honing machines, and other tools, to machine steel, aluminum, and other materials. Review drawings, instructions, and samples to ensure the production of accurate parts. Measure and take precise cuts or shapes as needed for each job. Apply math skills, including geometry, fractions, and decimals, to ensure accurate machining. Suggest improvements to enhance company performance, including participating in Bright Ideas, Safety Team involvement, and Departmental Meetings. Perform any additional tasks needed to support the company's goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in manual machining skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Minimum 2+ years of manual machining experience, preferably in a tool room environment. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Ability to work well as part of a team. Preferred Skills Experience in both VISI and Mastercam 2d/3d is a plus.
