Job Description
Our reputable machine shop is looking for a skilled Boring Mill Machinist to become a key member of our production staff. You will be tasked with the setup and operation of boring mill machinery to craft substantial, high-precision components that meet exact client requirements. We are looking for a professional who demonstrates technical machining expertise, thrives when working autonomously, and maintains a dedicated focus on delivering superior craftsmanship. Core Responsibilities Configure and run vertical and horizontal boring mill units. Analyze and translate technical drawings, blueprints, and production directives. Help ensure high-quality output by machining oversized metal components to exact tolerances. Determine the optimal tooling, feed rates, and speeds based on specific material properties. Verify part quality by utilizing precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators. Modify machine settings as needed to guarantee precision and part integrity. Conduct regular equipment upkeep and daily preventative maintenance. Support a productive environment by keeping your workstation tidy and orderly. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by adhering to all safety protocols. Contribute to team success by working efficiently to satisfy production timelines and client delivery dates. Required Qualifications At least three years of professional experience operating boring mills. Proficiency in interpreting complex blueprints and applying mathematical concepts. Background in producing intricate, large-scale parts with demanding tolerances. Competence in the precise application of various measurement instruments. Help ensure consistent output by maintaining a high level of detail and a commitment to quality. Capacity to operate effectively both as an individual contributor and within a collaborative team. Proven track record of reliability and a strong professional work ethic. Desired Skills Proficiency with CNC-controlled boring mills. Background in working with diverse materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, steel, and various alloys. Certification or experience in operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
