Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Swiss Lathe Setup and Program Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, troubleshooting, and operating Swiss-style CNC lathes to produce precision aerospace components. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, make program adjustments, hold tight tolerances, and perform quality checks using precision measuring tools. Experience with Haas or Okuma lathes is preferred. Employee receives 100% employer paid Health Benefits.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and operate Swiss-style CNC lathes independently with minimal supervision
  • Program and adjust CNC lathe controls to meet job requirements
  • Set up tooling, offsets, and coolant lines Perform program adjustments as needed Assist co-workers in the troubleshooting of CNC machining issues
  • Machine aircraft parts while holding tolerances as tight as .0005" Perform critical measurements using supplied gauging
  • Maintain proper paperwork associated with each planned job Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant CNC lathe setup and programming experience
  • Proficient in operating and programming Swiss-style CNC lathes; Citizen, Haas, or Okuma experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude a plus
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and understand GD&T requirements
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
  • Strong shop math skills
  • Proficiency in the use of a wide range of precision measuring tools
  • Exposure to Haas or Okuma lathes is a plus
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Swiss lathe setup and programming experience
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the manufacturing area for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, tooling, and parts up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle parts, tools, controls, gauges, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Must be able to work safely in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise, coolant, metal chips, and moving equipment.

Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
