Job Description

Summary The Lead Machine builder will Fit and assemble components according to assembly blueprints and knowledge of machine construction to build, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using hand tools and power tools. This role will supervise machine builders. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Managing workload by setting priority of work orders
  • Assembly of equipment per mechanical drawings
  • Troubleshooting any tooling design changes
  • Ensure changes are documented and communicated
  • Setting up perimeter guarding
  • Create and install brackets into system cells
  • Fine tuning on tooling to make parts in-spec
  • Traveling to set up machines in customer facilities out of town
  • Reduce downtime, improve production efficiency along with manufacturing methods
  • Follow all company safety protocol
  • Act as the lead go-to for the Machine Builders Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret, work instructions, blueprints, weld, mechanical and 3D Viewer CAD software
  • Knowledge and understanding GD&T
  • Experience fabricating and assembling components from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instruction
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools and gages to assembly machinery
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding
  • Ability to carry out complex written or oral instructions
  • Understands the "big picture" and is detail orientated with the ability to multitask
Ability:
understand basic robot programming knowledge (Fanuc) and weld control programming knowledge (WTC) helpful, but not required Organizational Culture Reporting to work on time and with a positive attitude
  • Appropriate dress attire and personal hygiene and cleanliness Responsible for staying focused on tasks at hand Being responsible for work performance and completing tasks throughout the day Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers Support a positive and steady workflow through the company Works with a sense of urgency when needed Support, coach or mentor co-workers when needed Positively supports change throughout the company Reporting Structure This position has no supervisory responsibility and will report to the Operations Supervisor.
Physical Work Conditions The physical demands required to successfully perform the job are as follows.
  • The employee will need to be able to stand, walk, Sit or kneel
  • The employee will need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • The employee will need to be able to read, write, hear and talk
  • Proper personal protective equipment must be worn when required Education Required/ Preferred
  • High School Diploma
  • Vocational/Tech School (preferred)
  • 8 plus years' experience Machine Building
