Northland Machine is seeking
NIGHT SHIFT CNC
Machinist Level 1 through 3 to Join Our Team! For this opening we are searching for an individual with knowledge and experience setting up and running CNC Mazak Mills and/or Lathes. This position would run Monday -
Thursday:
10 hour shifts Start and end times are flexible within reason Responsibilities would include but are not limited to;
  • Create and edit CNC programs that support the machining of large or small scale, complex, precision metal components fabricated on multiple-axis CNC milling and/or turning machining centers
  • Program efficient tool paths using blueprints and the appropriate tooling, proper feeds and speeds for the materials being used. This could include a variety of metals and/or plastics.
  • Set up parts on a multiple axis CNC machining center, along with documenting and communicating the setup to others including management and incoming machinists or operators.
  • Identify, select, and/or determine appropriate tooling for job specific applications (based on part material, geometry, features, tolerances, system rigidity, and equipment capability)
  • Perform daily maintenance of machines as required, keep Supervisor informed of any necessary maintenance that is beyond operator ability
  • Communicate and/or assist with troubleshooting to resolve quality or mechanical issues.
  • Handle materials safely and appropriately
  • Inspect in-process parts, DA and de-burr as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Follow all safety and GMP practices and procedures Desired Characteristics Trade school completion and/or previous machining experience required Experience setting up Mazak equipment Ability to run multiple machine types Experience inspecting part dimensions & knowledge in GD&T Ability to optimize machine performance by adjusting machine variables Ability to prep for next job while running machine and understands how to eliminate downtime On time and dependable Ability to lift 30 up to 50lbs on a required basis.
Ability to move or transfer parts with a crane or hand cart Ability to stand and/or stay active for 12hours Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, hearing protection is recommended.
