Panel / Machine Builder $32-$37 per hour | Union Role | First Shift Build real machines. Solve real problems. Get paid for your expertise. We're looking for a skilled Panel / Machine Builder who enjoys hands-on work, complex control systems, and seeing a custom project come together from print to power-on. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in clean builds, accurate wiring, and thoughtful troubleshooting—someone who wants more than repetitive production work. You'll be part of a union-represented team within a growing startup-style division, backed by the stability and resources of a long-established organization. The work is custom, technically engaging, and varied—no cookie-cutter panels here. What You'll Be Doing Build custom electrical panels and machine assemblies from start to finish using detailed schematics and blueprints Lay out panels, mount components, and perform complete electrical assembly on custom projects Wire switches, circuit breakers, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and control devices to spec Assemble and wire PLC-based machine control systems Troubleshoot panels and machines—diagnosing wiring issues, component failures, and control problems Verify functionality, quality, and compliance before machines move on Collaborate with engineering and fellow builders to resolve design or build challenges Maintain a clean, organized workspace while following shop safety standards What Makes You a Great Fit Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints Hands-on experience in panel building and machine building 2+ years of combined experience in electrical panel assembly and machine integration Confident troubleshooting skills for electrical panels and control systems Experience working with PLC-based controls High attention to detail—clean wiring, proper routing, accurate terminations Comfortable using hand tools, shop equipment, and test instruments Able to work independently while contributing to a team build environment Nice-to-Have Experience Technical degree or formal training in automation, robotics, or a related field Background in both electrical and mechanical machine assembly Experience with custom or one-off machines and panels Strong problem-solving mindset and a methodical troubleshooting approach Why You'll Want to Work Here $32-$37/hr based on experience Union position with representation and structure First shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM Custom builds that keep the work interesting and technically challenging Stable organization with the energy and growth of a startup division Opportunity to sharpen your skills in automation, controls, and machine building Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Ham Lake, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.92 - $38.40/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
